Description

6 Armed Mahakala Thangka:

Mahakala, also known as the "Great Black One" or "Great Time," is a significant deity in Tibetan Buddhism, symbolizing the destruction of ignorance and the removal of obstacles that impede spiritual progress. Originating from ancient Indian and Tibetan traditions, Mahakala evolved into a crucial figure in Tibetan Buddhist practice, symbolizing the destruction of ignorance and the removal of obstacles. His fierce appearance, characterized by a dark blue or black complexion, a crown of skulls, and a mane of flames, signifies his transcendence over conventional limitations and profound connection to the spiritual realm.

Mahakala's role extends beyond guardianship, as he is considered the protector of the Dharma, safeguarding the teachings of the Buddha from harmful forces and negative influences. His wrathful countenance is a powerful manifestation of divine energy aimed at overcoming ignorance, attachment, and delusion. The Six-Armed Mahakala stands out with his six arms, each wielding various symbolic implements such as a skull cup, a trident, a sword, and a lasso. The central Mahakala is flanked by two secondary Mahakalas, each showcasing different dimensions of the Mahakala's energy and protection. These figures symbolize the multi-faceted guardianship of Mahakala, highlighting his invincible strength and spiritual vigilance. The serene Buddha figures provide a grounding contrast to Mahakala's dynamic energy, symbolizing the ultimate goal of enlightenment. These attributes represent his comprehensive ability to act in multiple ways simultaneously, providing all-encompassing protection against spiritual and worldly obstacles.

In Tibetan Buddhism, Mahakala holds a special place in the practices of the Kagyu and Nyingma schools, where he is revered as an essential figure in tantric rituals. His presence in Tibetan Buddhist rituals is a reminder of the balance between strength and compassion, demonstrating that protection and enlightenment are intertwined in the journey towards spiritual liberation.

Mahakala Thangka is a powerful focal point for meditation and a vibrant representation of the interplay between wisdom, compassion, and strength in Tibetan spiritual practice.

Amazed by their customer service and collection. Would definitely recommend them to everyone

Really Great Customer Service and very beautiful thangka collection.

This is a magnificent piece of Buddha Shakyamuni thangka. Masterfully executed in rich, vibrant colors with illuminating detail; The silk brocade frame compliments the painting beautifully and forms a focal point in our praying/meditation room I receive the piece earlier than expected in good shape; and prior to purchase, Rajendra was responding quickly and very helpful in providing high resolution picture for my further evaluation. Thank you Rajendra and surely I will be back again.
