I visited the premises in Boudha in person. Its not just next to the stupa like many shops but a little way away and easy to find with Googlemaps - just ask locals when you get there as they didn't have an obvious sign, at least when I visited. They have modern studios, workshops and a salesroom all in the same buildng. Bipin was very helpful and I examined several bhavacakra thankas before settling for a beautifully detailed one. The brocade was added in a day or two and the final thanka was delivered to my hotel very carefully and robustly packaged. I was very happy with the thankas I bought and very happy with the service, Definitely recommended!
Buddha Amitabha | Thangka Painting
The Amitabha Buddha, also known as Infinite Light, is shown magnificently in this Painting . This is hand painted in Kathmandu by a Nepali artist. Seated in a Vajra pose, clad in monk's robes, he is carrying a bowl containing the nectar of immortality with his hands folded and facing up in meditation mudra (samadhi).
Amitabha means infinite light and he is also known as “Amitayus” or Buddha of the infinite life. Amitabha is the most ancient of the Vajrayana tradition's Five Dhyani Buddhas and is regarded as the crimson Buddha of the west
Amitabha Buddha is commonly represented as Shakyamuni Buddha, although he is generally seated in meditation mudra, whereas ground touching mudra is only designated for a seated Shakyamuni Buddha. Amitabha is a red-colored deity in Tibetan Buddhism; whereas red represents the color of love, compassion, and emotional energy. His distinctive insignia is the lotus, and he is believed to shield beings from bad attachment impulses. As a result, he is connected with the lotus: gentleness, openness, and purity.
