Description

Blue Medicine Buddha Thangka:

Medicine Buddha, also called the Bhaisajyaguru, is famous in Mahayana Buddhism known for his healing abilities and compassion. He is portrayed as a magnificent blue figure in meditation, holding a medicinal herb representing his capacity to alleviate pain and cure illnesses. His name, "Bhaisajyaguru," means "Master of Healing," which refers to his work as a healer of physical, emotional, and spiritual afflictions. Bhaisajyaguru's twelve noble vows are intended to direct sentient beings to liberation from suffering. Reciting his mantra invokes his healing blessings, which provide comfort and assistance to people in need. In certain traditions, Bhaisajyaguru is one of seven Medicine Buddhas, each with unique healing abilities. Devotees use numerous practices and rituals to connect with Bhaisajyaguru and seek his blessings for healing and well-being.

This Medicine Buddha Thangka accompanied by Amitabha Buddha and Shakyamuni Buddha can create a transformative environment with healing, inspiration, and cultural significance in your living or working space. It also showcases Tibetan Buddhism's rich cultural heritage. Its vibrant colors and intricate details add artistic elegance, sparking conversation and promoting healing, compassion, and spiritual growth.

I visited the premises in Boudha in person. Its not just next to the stupa like many shops but a little way away and easy to find with Googlemaps - just ask locals when you get there as they didn't have an obvious sign, at least when I visited. They have modern studios, workshops and a salesroom all in the same buildng. Bipin was very helpful and I examined several bhavacakra thankas before settling for a beautifully detailed one. The brocade was added in a day or two and the final thanka was delivered to my hotel very carefully and robustly packaged. I was very happy with the thankas I bought and very happy with the service, Definitely recommended!
