Really Great Customer Service and very beautiful thangka collection.
This is a magnificent piece of Buddha Shakyamuni thangka. Masterfully executed in rich, vibrant colors with illuminating detail; The silk brocade frame compliments the painting beautifully and forms a focal point in our praying/meditation room I receive the piece earlier than expected in good shape; and prior to purchase, Rajendra was responding quickly and very helpful in providing high resolution picture for my further evaluation. Thank you Rajendra and surely I will be back again.
I was extremely pleased with the quality of the unique thangka I received, as well as the immaculate brocade. Communication with Ritual Thanka has been a pleasure, and shipping was faster than I could have hoped for. Six stars! :)

Hand-Painted Machig Labdron Thangka Painting:
Our hand-painted thangka, Machig Labdron, is a powerful representation of the revered Tibetan yogini, who is celebrated as the founder of the Chod practice. The thangka is adorned with vibrant colors and intricate details, symbolizing Machig Labdron's active engagement in spiritual practice and her readiness to cut through ego and attachment. She holds a damaru (hand drum) in her right hand, representing the sound of emptiness, and a bell in her left, symbolizing wisdom and the female principle. Her expression radiates fierce compassion, radiating the transformative power of Chod, a practice designed to sever the root of self-clinging by offering one's body as a feast to demons and obstructive forces.
Machig Labdron, a historical figure from the 11th century, is one of the few female Buddhist teachers to have originated a spiritual tradition practiced in her lifetime. Her teachings emphasize the cutting of dualistic thinking and attachment, particularly the deep-seated grasping at the self. Chod, meaning "cutting through," is a unique blend of meditation, visualization, and ritual music that integrates the principles of Prajnaparamita, the Perfection of Wisdom.
This Machig Labdron Thangka serves as a powerful visual tool for meditation and a profound connection to Machig Labdron's transformative teachings. It's an ideal piece for those seeking to honor the legacy of this extraordinary spiritual trailblazer in their practice or sacred space.
