Shiva Nataraja, also known as the Lord of Dance, is a powerful representation of the Hindu god Shiva, symbolizing the cosmic dance of creation, preservation, and destruction. The statue is surrounded by a circle of flames, representing the cycle of birth and death and the destruction of illusion and ignorance. Shiva holds a drum, symbolizing the sound of creation, and a flame, representing destruction and transformation. His right hand is in the abhaya mudra, symbolizing protection and reassurance, while his left-hand points to his lifted foot, symbolizing refuge and liberation. A serpent coils around his arms and ankles, symbolizing divine power and spiritual awakening. How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is completely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a
glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
