Handcrafted Vintage Laughing Mask

About Our Mask :

Standing at a height of 25 cm, the Handmade Vintage Laughing Mask is a lovely wooden item with a deep cultural importance. This finely carved object is evidence of the artistic and technical traditions of its place of origin.

A great addition to any collection or display, the Laughing Mask radiates joy and enthusiasm with its joyful countenance and beautiful workmanship. The artist's expertise and devotion are evident in every curve and line of the wooden carving.

This is vintage and it was collected during the 1980s from Kathmandu and brought down from the Himalayan region for barter and trade. Its existence provides a link to the past by providing an insight into the habits and practices of the people who made it. When proudly displayed, it transcends from being merely an ornamental item to a representation of admiration for artistic workmanship and cultural diversity.

I visited the premises in Boudha in person. Its not just next to the stupa like many shops but a little way away and easy to find with Googlemaps - just ask locals when you get there as they didn't have an obvious sign, at least when I visited. They have modern studios, workshops and a salesroom all in the same buildng. Bipin was very helpful and I examined several bhavacakra thankas before settling for a beautifully detailed one. The brocade was added in a day or two and the final thanka was delivered to my hotel very carefully and robustly packaged. I was very happy with the thankas I bought and very happy with the service, Definitely recommended!

Great experience ordering from here

Beautiful Thangka! The colours, the details of the painting, the brocate - everything is beautiful. Top and very gentle service, thank you!

super sweet thanka for a child

An absolutely phenomenal thangka: among the highest quality thangkas I've been blessed to acquire. The quality of the painting is truly stunning, and the brocade is also of the highest order. A joy to receive! The seller is also very kind, attentive, and helpful. All around a pleasure to support this shop, and I look forward to purchasing from them again in the future!

Beautiful Thangkas .. Fantastic service! I am most grateful...
