Exquisite Vajrasattva Thangka:
Vajrasattva is related to cleansing, getting rid of bad karma, and removing impurities. Translations of the name "Vajrasattva" include "Diamond Being" and "Adamantine Being," denoting an undivided and unchanging nature. Vajrasattva is worshipped as a Bodhisattva (a being on the way to Buddhahood) in Tibetan Buddhist traditions.
In the thangka, Vajrasattva is shown as a white figure to represent purity and an enlightened mind. Vajrasattva is holding a bell (indicating wisdom) in one hand and a vajra (a ritual tool denoting spiritual strength) in the other. This artwork represents the fusion of wisdom and compassion, two characteristics that are necessary for achieving enlightenment.
